“Outside The Box” Easter Box Cards

Ask anyone in my family and they will tell you, I’ve been a card maker for many, many years!

It was only recently that I started using a Cricut machine to make my greeting cards.

Having a Cricut machine to accurately cut all of my card pieces takes a lot of the guess work and frustration from making cards, which has pushed me to new card making challenges.

Tfullsizeoutput_1983.jpegoday’s video is the second in a series of tutorials about card making with your Cricut and explores many variations of my all time favorite kind of card–the Box Card.

Wondering what a Box Card is?

It’s a card that uses the shape of a box to make a 3D Greeting Card that folds up for easy mailing. One of my favorite designers–Mary from SVG Cuts–has taken the concept of Box Cards to a completely different level that I call her designs “Thinking Outside The Box” Box Cards.

In this video I show you a collection of cards from SVG Cuts called “Easter Box Cards”. These five cards are just one grouping of Box Cards from Mary that demonstrate how you can make exquisite cards with just a few pieces of paper, your Cricut and some glue!

fullsizeoutput_1987The files that Miss Rita uses to make this card were purchased from SVG Cuts (SVGCuts.com) and an easily be replicated using your own Cricut machine.

These projects are NOT available for purchase in Cricut Design Space, but they can be uploaded to your canvas after purchase.

Once uploaded, you can cut all of the pieces expertly on your machine.

Are They Jelly Beans Or Jelly Bird Eggs?

Hey! Help me out!

Do you call them Jelly Beans or Jelly Bird Eggs?

As a kid, we always called them Jelly Beans, but the candy companies now label them Jelly Bird Eggs. Was there some sort of shake up at the candy factories that I am unaware of?

Either way…I’ve never liked picking through that plastic grass to find my favorite Jelly Bean. How about you?

Maybe it’s time for you to make some adorable Easter Treat Cups from our designer friend, Lori Whitlock!

fullsizeoutput_190cFollow along as Miss Rita (that’s me!) makes Easter Treat Cups out of double sided paper from Echo Park Paper Company using a file from Lori’s SVG site (shop.loriwhitlock.com).

Miss Rita will also give you a sneak peak at an upcoming project called an Easter Egg Diorama!

The files that Miss Rita uses to make this card were purchased from Lori’s SVG Shop. The Echo Park Paper Company paper is from their Easter collection.

Miss Rita shows you how to assemble the treat cups so you can easily replicate this project with your Cricut Explore or Maker.

fullsizeoutput_1911This project is NOT available for purchase in Cricut Design Space, but it can be uploaded to your canvas after purchase. Once uploaded, you can cut all of the pieces expertly on your machine.
